Allison (Ally) MacPherson Sullivan was a tomboy growing up. She loved to work in the barns on her family farm taking care of the orphaned and sick animals. When working with her mother and sisters in the family garden, she was known to disappear, only to show up later with some small wild animal or bird that was injured and needed healing. She also loved to play pranks on her brothers. Her brother Tristan tells one of those times in The Prisoner.
Allie is the youngest of the three sisters sent away from her family after her beloved father dies and her grieving mother marries again too soon. After escaping the brutal hand of their step-uncle, she finds peace in in Jacob’s valley for a while, taking care of the animals and fishing with her best friend Sam. All that comes to an end with the arrival of a wagon of newcomers to the valley and the bitter tongue of a bitter woman.
