The one above is from the This one is mine. the Clan MacPherson website.
After I published my last series, I realized something. While I have the MacPherson clan shield on the back of my paperback books, I do not show it on my e-book covers. I have written about the shield in most, if not all, the books, so I wanted to show you what it looks like. The clan motto is TOUCH NOT THE PAW BUT A GLOVE. The word CAT refers to the Scottish Wildcat, or also known as the Highland Tiger. The word BUT means WITHOUT. The GLOVE is the paw where the claws are retracted. So the meaning of the motto is don’t mess with a wildcat if its claws are showing—ready to attack or defend, and one should stay away or suffer the consequences.
My MacPhersons don’t always follow all of their clan’s traditions–after all, they’ve been gone from Scotland for many decades. But this is still true with Angus and Mary’s children and grandchildren–Don’t mess with them. They will defend and protect their own.
NOTE: I need to apologize for skipping the last few weeks. I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes and working on the computer was a bit stressful.
